Bio

Dr. Lai’s teaching interests are in the areas of marketing and international business. Dr. Lai holds an MBA and a PhD. from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She publishes and presents at marketing academic conferences and has conducted marketing research for various non-profit organizations.

International Teaching

Dr. Lai served as a 2016-2017 Fulbright Scholar at the University of Rijeka (UNIRI) in Croatia. In addition to her international teaching experience in Croatia, she has served as a Lecturer for Singapore Institute of Management/SUNY Buffalo, Singapore in 2010 and 2011, and served as Guest Lecturer at Central University of Finance and Economics, 2018, Beijing China.

Research

Dr. Lai’s research interests are interdisciplinary and therefore she has presented research at international conferences such as the North American Regional Scientist Council in Toronto, Canada; the International Conference on the Arts in Society in Edinburgh, Scotland; the Global Conference on Economic Geography in Beijing, China; and the Crikvenica International Health Tourism Conference in Crikvenica, Croatia.

International Service

As a result of Dr. Lai’s Fulbright experience at the University of Rijeka, SUNY Buffalo State students have participated in an alternative spring break program where they provided service to the Rijeka community.  Dr. Lai has taken over 80 Buffalo State students to the Central University of Finance and Economics in Beijing, China for a two-week study abroad which offers an introduction to Chinese business and culture, combined with visits to cultural sites and companies.

Service

Dr. Lai has served as reviewer for the International Journal of Urban and Regional Research, International Journal on the Arts in Society, International Academy of Business and Economics, and the Association of Marketing Theory and Practice. She is a member of the International Academy of Business and Economics and the Association of Marketing Theory and Practice.
