Dr. Lai’s teaching interests are in the areas of marketing and international business. Dr. Lai holds an MBA and a PhD. from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She publishes and presents at marketing academic conferences and has conducted marketing research for various non-profit organizations.
Each January term, Dr. Lai leads a cohort of Buffalo State students to the Central University of Finance and Economics in Beijing, China for a two-week study-abroad program which offers an introduction to Chinese business and culture, combined with visits to cultural sites and companies. This three-credit course provides students with the opportunity to observe first-hand China’s dramatic development.
Dr. Lai’s research interests are interdisciplinary and therefore she has presented research at international conferences such as the North American Regional Scientist Council in Toronto, Canada; the International Conference on the Arts in Society in Edinburgh, Scotland; and the Global Conference on Economic Geography in Beijing, China.
Dr. Lai has served as reviewer for the International Journal of Urban and Regional Research, International Journal on the Arts in Society, International Academy of Business and Economics, and the Association of Marketing Theory and Practice. She is a member of the International Academy of Business and Economics and the Association of Marketing Theory and Practice.
