John DeNisco received his MBA from Canisius College in May 1979 with a concentration in marketing. He is also received his undergraduate degree in English from UB.

Professor DeNisco has been a faculty member in the Business Department since 1982. As a faculty member, he has served on committees, developed the Master Plan Amendment for their Business Administration degree, and developed courses in MIS and Marketing Management. He has overseen the design and development of the Business Department Computer Lab and Smart classroom in Chase Hall. He has served as adviser to two student organizations—most recently with Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) who engaged in projects to enhance the community in areas of entrepreneurship, marketing, personal skills, and financial literacy. He is currently serving as department chair.

He has done workshops for the Small Development Center. He has been actively involved with the Center for the Development of Human Services (CDHS) since 1985, working on several projects as a partner including development of their first electronic reporting system, a manual to assist staff who worked with Lotus 123, and mostly recently as an ambassador to the School of the Professions.

At the college level, he has trained many staff and faculty members on both PC, and software use, co-chaired of the Middle State subcommittee on the First-Year Experience (2001-02), has served as a member of the College Senate for 18 years, chairing several committees. He has represented the college on the University Faculty Senate (UFS) for SUNY, serving on the UFS Executive Committee and as chair of the Undergraduate Committee for the University Senate twice.

He has been a member of several professional organizations and has co-chaired the Buffalo/Niagara Sales & Marketing Executives “Student Day in the Field Event for the past 10 years. In 2005 he received the President’s Award for Service,. He earned the CDHS Service Award in 2006. He served as a Teaching/Fellow Scholar in the FASE Faculty as well.

Denisco has been interested in helping students to acclimate to life after school by involving himself in programs that allow them to see the workplace hands-on, and that demonstrate and require students how to use their talents to become productive citizens.

While most of his worked has been in the applied field, he has written a “How to do Manual” for Lotus 1-2-3 through sponsorship with the Center for the Development of Human Services, and has written white papers and proceedings for conferences.
