Michael Littman earned his Ph.D. and taught marketing at the Ohio State University. His teaching areas include international business, leadership, business ethics, and business and marketing education.
Since 2007, Dr. Littman has been a Fellow at the Schusterman Center for Israel Studies at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA.
He served as the Business Department chair from 1998 to 2001 as well as summer department chair in 2008-2010.
Dr. Littman has been actively involved with a large variety of student services including selection as Buffalo State’s first Faculty-in-Residence from 1992 to 1995, being one of the first group of twelve campus FAME (Freshman Advisement for Major Entry) advisers, and in New Student Orientations.
Dr. Littman is active in professional development; having attended three AACSB seminars as well as a variety of college related and educational related programs.
Internationally, Dr. Littman is well recognized as a scholar having served as a guest professor on numerous occasions since 1993 at the Amsterdam School of Business in the Netherlands and the University of Applied Sciences at the University of Dortmund in Germany. He has also served as a visiting professor at the University of Stettin in Poland.
In 2009, he was co-chair of International Project Week bringing students and faculty members from over 20 countries together. In 2010, he was the coordinator of the Creativity in Projects and Organizations Conference Track both held at the University of Dortmund, Germany.
Dr. Littman has over 35 publications and presentations in journals such as the Journal of Business and Marketing, Journal of Private Enterprise Education, and Great Ideas for Teaching Marketing. His research efforts have been recognized by his peers with two major research awards in marketing education. He was named a Buffalo State Teacher Scholar Fellow in April 2002 and has been selected for Who’s Who Among American Teachers.
Dr. Littman has been elected to the Williamsville Central School District Board of Education serving two terms as vice president, he is interim Board President of Community Charter School in Buffalo, Secretary of the Board of Trustees at the Morton Lane State University Federal Credit Union, and a member of the Board of Directors of Meals on Wheels for Western New York.
He is also an active youth sports coach, his teams in Lou Gehrig Youth Baseball and Amherst Youth Basketball have won multiple league championships. He holds a brown belt in the Israeli combat martial arts, Krav Maga.
